A long long time ago a man brought a little red car from a land far far away. Then another man took fancy to his car, and thus a trade was arranged for a few livestock and precious beads.
Now a new chapter has begun (http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f93/muddyvitara123/MX5/null-9.jpg) (http://s45.photobucket.com/user/muddyvitara123/media/MX5/null-9.jpg.html)
638 I'm feeling sorry for Samuli for having to sell this car (for this is the car that that has he's name on it more than any mx-5 I've ever seen) but it's great that it stays in the club (and in the country!) and goes for someone that appreciates it. I truly hope this car get what it deserves, heavy beating on and off track headbang (and maybe some tlc now and then wub)
DOnt worry it will soon have my own stamp all over in time, the gathering has already begun ;)
FIrst up is to continue the muchos TLC that has already been poured into it, Most of its little niggles have been ironed out in the first few days,
charging issue, fixed, Running rich as a bitch, Seems to be fixed Door handle, fixed Spring service, done major clean and polish, done... I was embarassed to have it at the meeting looking like it did.
NExt jobs? MS ecu fit n tune Need a new bootlid, straight preferably. REplace exhaust manifold gasket GEometry needs done something clunks at front end on cobbles so new bushes throughout me thinks Exhaust needs lifted
Then the usual summer of parts gathering for winter fitment. Lets see what the parts fairy can find for me food-smiley-004
so its been a bleak time for making any mods to the car, been too busy just ironing put some niggles and liufe in general has been a bit hectic. however, finally i got my biggest bug bear sorted today ;D What started out as an idea for a temporary solution has ended up looking way better than i hoped, this may end up staying as a new feature
alas its at the expense of the ducktail but at the same time the old one was too small in my opinoin, not to mention the dents. Being a bit retro i like the throw back to the 70's with a black boot, maybe the bonnet next :scratch
sharp eyes will notice the reflectors are also blacked out.
Well i guess its about time i updated what has been happening with Pepper.
Last week Samuli and i took her for a spin to go help my friend with some car testing of his R2 Fiesta, any excuse to try and follow him and rag it down some gravel roads is always welcome. then it was park up and close the road to anny other traffic
The usual tinkering away has added up and now a few more jobs are off the list, nothing too dramatic as i have been waiting for customs and excise to make their decision about import duty, :bansku it was less than i thought
Well as there was not much i could do until i got my plates, i set about a little de tango mission and changed the indicators over to the sidelight slot, much improvement and no more flashes from other motorists to switch on day running lights clap
alas this brings on hyperblink with the indicators so a quick order into the bay of E for some inline resistors to slow it down! the dog was not as happy with them as i was dunno
unfortunately these didn't cure the problem so it was some more digging, then found the fix of changing the R1 resistor in the flasher unit, balance has now been returned to the universe
next up fitting the LED bulbs, these seem to be a bit sharper than the orange blobs and have the advantage of no little orange blob inside the light unit
all in all today has been rather productive in the job lists for the car, fitted a lights on buzzer, had to do a bit of trimming to get the cubby box back into the tombstone under the stereo, as the new Alpine sits just a little lower but enough to foul everything angry-smiley-005
all in all a rather satisfying day and a lot of things crossed off the to do list, maybe now i should refit the "cat" now whistle

You know...if you happen to lose the front plate, you need to order a new one. But you can drive up to 3 months with the receipt without the front plate, if you're too busy to pick them up earlier. ;)
